About:
In 2003 I learned needle felting and fell in love immediately. Back then, it was a very unusual craft in Sweden so I had nobody to learn from. I didn´t even know that there were high quality needles until fifteen years later! When I finally got good tools, and found an international online community, my creativity just exploded.
In 2019 I started a business called Cariad. I never planned to live on it, because I don´t want to feel any pressure when creating. I earn a little from giving classes and selling my things in a local craft shop or on craft fairs, but my main income is from the healtcare section. I am a specialised nurse assistant, I worked for ten years in the Childrens Hospital but now change focus and study to be a medical foot therapeut. Not quite as advanced as a podiatrist but in that area.
When I create, all inspiration comes from my own imagination. I have tried to make realistic animals but I just do not have that connection between my eyes and my hand. Also, I need complete freedom when I create. Nobody can tell me what a troll or dragon is supposed to look like, but everybody can tell me that my horse does not look at all like a horse. I did try once but I turned into a fantasy moose instead. As that, it is great. As a horse, not so much

About:
I had seen needle felting done a number of years ago at a craft fair but at that time couldn't find out much about how to go about getting supplies and such. Right before covid I came across a post of a needle felted item someone one posted in a crafting group and when I asked where she got the supplies she gave me an Amazon link for an inexpensive kit. The rest is history. I fell in love at the first stab. I just love how you can take wool and turn it into something amazing. I have been felting ever since and started teaching a few years ago both in person and online. It's definitely a passion for me to see what new and fun things I can create and share my love with others.

I always thought that needle felted toys looked amazing, but always thought it was too difficult to try. However, one year I found myself far away from home, in another city, and in a boring job. So I started to explore different creative avenues. During one particularly boring day at work, my boss mentioned having too much fur shed by her dog, and if perhaps I knew of a way to make something from it, for example Russian felted boots -valenki. I said that I don't know how to make anything, but I know that people make all sorts of stuff. From there on, I started exploring kits to learn felting. Still, I never thought I could design anything myself. But eventually making ready ideas from kits became boring... So I tried...

I have developed a range of kits, step by step online courses and regularly run workshops and weekend retreats all over the North West which are just perfect for the beginners and intermediates. My passion for this amazing art has not waived since I first found it. Isn’t it just wonderful!

About:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a simple online image sparked a new creative passion. Already a seasoned crafter with years of experience in various arts, including recent forays into felt play food and activity books for children, I was captivated by the intricate textures of needle felted pieces. Curiosity drove me to explore this unique medium, and I quickly fell in love with the tactile process of sculpting wool with a barbed needle. Needle felting has since become my primary artistic focus, allowing me to create detailed and whimsical figures. Always eager to expand my creative horizons, I'm currently venturing into the delicate art of embroidery and experimenting with the intricate coils of paper quilling, adding new dimensions to my artistic journey.

I discovered Dimensional Needle Felting in a gift shop and became hooked after a short class. My first major interest was felting teddy bears.
I had sewn many bears and was familiar with their body parts and shapes. One day, a teddy bear head took on it's own form and the entire felting became a "cave man" which sparked my interest in creating human characters and real people from photos. With the help of of the artist who created this art form, I bought her book. Brigitte Hansen lives in Denmark and is the original artist of dimensional felting. Then I discovered Kay Petal, who studied needle felting under Brigitte in Denmark and lives in the U.S. She taught me how how to felt humans from photos from her fb page, that I was lucky enough to find and join. Most of what I have learned, I give credit to those two fantastic artists.
I have been felting for 16 years and have won awards in on-line contests, thanks to the many techniques of Brigette and Kay. They both got me on track after a year or so of struggling, not being aware of any techniques. As with most artists, I have learned some of my own techniques over the years.
There is no end to what can be sculpted with a felting needle and wool.

About:
I suffer from anxiety related to past trauma and PTSD. My therapist told me I needed to take up a hobby. I had no idea what to even try. I discovered needle felting when I wanted to give my husband a replica of his dog for Christmas. I looked up all kinds of different art styles and really connected with the felting tutorials I found. I tried it and broke many needles on that first project! It came out great though, and I was instantly addicted!!!! It has truly helped my anxiety as it's very relaxing and soothing.

During the pandemic, while shielding for, I discovered a deep love for fibre art. What started as a creative outlet quickly became a passion for making pieces that bring joy to others. I enjoy blending different techniques—needle felting, macrame, knitting, and crochet—to create modern, one-of-a-kind art. Sally Bonnie From Sally Bonnie Fibre N Art (Visible Breakthrough Coaching Ltd)
About
I’m Sally, a needle felting artist, teacher, and community builder originally from Manchester and now rooted in the inspiring landscapes of the Lake District. I am a member of the International Felt-makers Association and began sharing my skills through free workshops, newsletters and workbook downloads - I love it!
After years of charity work, coaching, and teaching, especially empowering women, I’ve returned to my creative roots. Reconnecting with the amazing women from Inspire Women Oldham rekindled my passion for creating after being told I was pretty rubbish at art at school! Now, I craft unique, eco-friendly pieces from UK wool and fibre, sharing my love through teaching and storytelling.
As my creative journey unfolded, I combined my coaching and teaching skills with fibre art, giving birth to Sally Bonnie Fibre n Art!
This path has shifted me from self-doubt to confidently sharing felting techniques through online classes and courses, my "Be Brave Be Creative Private Group," a free Membership platform, and collaborations with ethical UK wool producers. I also cheerlead other creators through my Blog and Podcast Series “Threads of Inspiration”.
I'm committed to sustainable crafting, working with UK wool from rare breeds, and partnering with producers who maintain farm-to-fleece practices for my wool kits. I continue to explore, learn and challenge myself, sharing this very special connection I have that fills my heart and my mind with peace. My hope is that through my work you will find this connection too.

About
I wanted to do something special with my dogs fur after she passed away suddenly in November 2024 and came across a needle felting Facebook page that featured a dog that incorporated real fur. I bought myself a kit online and gave it a go and was immediately hooked! I then began creating characters from pictures off the internet and also did a few special requests before being asked to do someone's dog. Since then my pet keepsakes have really taken off and I am loving being able to bring that little bit of comfort back to grieving owners by allowing them to touch and hold something familiar instead of just looking at pictures.

About
I started needle felting around eight years ago. I was intrigued with some little creatures I saw in a shop window when I was in Wellington, NZ and was told they were needle felted!
Coming home to New Plymouth, I could not find anyone teaching this and as was desperate to learn, I taught myself. My first works were mostly fantasy figures which I gave away to friends and family.
I eventually found some groups on Facebook and learnt a great deal with the help of other felters mostly overseas.
I joined Taranaki Creative Fibre and found a few who were interested and who had also done a little needle felting.
I was asked to take some workshops for beginners which I did, to start with rather reluctantly, as didn't feel I was good enough.
However, my pupils really enjoyed my help and word got out, I was soon in demand as a tutor locally.
By this time I had started my own Facebook page and through this was taking commissions, many for pet memorial portraits.
I enjoy making NZ native birds, have made several wall hangings as well as my recent life size "NZ native Kea , please don't feed" which I am proud to say won the most votes in the People's choice Award at Taranaki Creative Fibres Fibreworks Exhibition.
I was very fortunate to attend an international artist, Rich O Hanna's workshop on mask making in New Plymouth in January where I learnt a great deal of new techniques as well as finding I have so much more still to learn...
However, my passion for Needle Felting continues and I enjoy sharing my love with other felters.

About:
I was never an “artsy” person or kid. It wasn’t until I became pregnant with my daughter that I felt the urge to create. I suppose it was nesting, but I started to crochet, making little sleep sacks and things for my baby. After a couple years of crocheting my older sister, who is an incredible knitter, introduced me to needle felting. It wasn’t love at first stab - I made a very floppy and measly octopus wearing a hat! But she persisted and bought me a felting kit, and with the proper tools and instruction I fell entirely into it and haven’t looked back since!

An article about needle felting popped up on my Fb page in 2020, that dreadful year! A lady in Ireland was making beautiful felted robins and I just thought what an amazing and beautiful art form.
A couple of years later I left full time work to care for my Mother. It was then that I took up needle felting by watching lots of YouTube tutorials and teaching myself.
Two years on I have a business called the Felt Pen, a supportive following on Face Book, an Etsy shop and I just love it! I specialise in Westies and they sell out super quickly so I now have a waiting list for them into 2026.
My plans for the future include kits and tutorials, continuing to feature the Westies but also Australian animals too
